Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

In recent decades, Nintendo has created some of the largest and most recognizable controllers. The Nintendo GameCube controller is frequently touted as the best of all time, and the Nintendo Wii controller redefined what controllers look like and can do. The original NES controller has become synonymous with gaming. Given all of this, it should come as no surprise that the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is a work of art.

If you don’t already own any of these bad boys, we’ll explain why you should in our review of the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. We’ll also go through a few arguments against digging it up.

What is the nintendo switch controller

Contrary to the majority of console controllers, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is an add-on. You can play Switch games without the Switch Pro Controller, unlike with an Xbox or PlayStation console. The Joy-Con pair that came with your Nintendo Switch will fulfill all of your needs. The Switch Pro controller also becomes even less necessary if you own a Nintendo Switch Lite because you can’t connect the Switch Lite to your TV to play games.

But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t want a Switch Pro Controller even if you don’t need one. The Nintendo Switch Joy-Con is novel and intriguing, but it’s a little too small for extended gaming sessions.Additionally, due to their small size and thinness, they don’t have the best battery life.

All of these issues are resolved by Switch Pro Controller. You get a contemporary, full-size controller experience with it. It boasts excellent ergonomics, a long battery life, and all the functionality you require to maximize your gaming experience.

In addition, the controller performs admirably with other systems. Both Windows 10 and the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller are natively supported by Android 10 (including Steam games).

Whats good about it?

With the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, Nintendo did not attempt to reinvent the wheel like it did with the Nintendo Wii. The obvious impact here is that the controller initially resembles an Xbox One controller quite a bit.

Nintendo, on the other hand, enhanced the Xbox One design by combining it with the controller it created for the Nintendo Wii U Pro years before. One of the best emotion controllers I’ve ever used is what you receive. It is neither too hefty nor too light, and it fits the hand extremely comfortably. Every stroke is precise and pleasurable because to the textured grip and buttons. This controller’s almost every component is in place.

This first-party accessory works perfectly with Nintendo Switch because it is a first-party product. It has simple pairing, HD noise support, and Amiibo NFC. Its buttons may be remapped in the Switch’s settings, and practically every Switch game is compatible with it (there are some notable exceptions, such as Super Mario Party and all other games based on Joy-Con).

With a runtime of about 40 hours before needing to be recharged, battery life is likewise quite good. Speaking of charging, you may use whatever USB-C cable you have to charge the internal lithium-ion battery because it supports USB-C. Even a high-quality USB-C to USB-A cable (about 5 feet long) that may be used to play your games while connected to a wired network is included in the box.

Since this controller has so many advantages, it’s challenging to find any criticisms. However, there are two, and the next section will concentrate on those.

What’ less good about it

The Bluetooth pairing button on the rear is the first thing that is a little bothersome. To make it more difficult to mistakenly push, it is sunken into the body and placed exactly next to the USB-C port. I am aware of Nintendo’s motivation: it wants to stop consumers from unintentionally activating pairing mode while playing. But until today, he hadn’t needed to make any purchases. You will want a paper clip or another item to press the button if you intend to actually use the Bluetooth pairing feature. If you wish to pair Bluetooth frequently, keep in mind that you’re going to struggle unless you have long nails.

To be clear, you can pair your Nintendo Switch without using the Bluetooth pairing button. The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller will sync as soon as you connect it to your Switch dock using the included USB-C connector. You only need to use the pairing button if you want to connect the controller to other systems.

The absence of IR compatibility on the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is the second drawback. Overall, it’s not a major concern because most IR-using games also demand the usage of a Joy-Con. Since the Joy-Con are already included with your Nintendo Switch, you can still play these games.

Should u buy it?

You’re leading an entirely incorrect existence if you have a Nintendo Switch and use your Joy-Con as a controller in a grip accessory. While this configuration will work, a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller will be much more comfortable for your hands and wrists as well as your gaming performance.

You’ll also need a Switch Pro Controller if you have a Nintendo Switch Lite and have cramps from handling the whole thing for long periods of time (and a sturdy stand, too).

Your Windows or Android phone ought to be on this list if all you’re looking for is an excellent game controller and you don’t own a Switch.

The cost is the current major caveat. When it was initially released, it cost $69.99, making it more expensive than controllers for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Nintendo has since reduced the cost by around $11, but this costly device is still available. It can be challenging to find during the busiest shopping times because it is also in high demand. Don’t let that deter you; this controller is well worth the effort and money.

The top-notch Switch and Switch Lite controller.

In addition to being the greatest controller available for the Switch, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is also one of the best controllers overall. Although it may be a bit pricy, its excellent ergonomics, extended battery life, and adaptability make it a crucial tool in the toolbox of any dedicated gamer.
