Burnout 3: Takedown
Speed, excitement and fun… Load your boosts We’re going to takedown!

Forget what you’ve seen so far!

When it comes to Burnout, the words “Boost and Crash” come to mind without exception, if there are nitro-turbo car races around today, they are the work of Burnout. So what sets Burnout apart from other games? – With the first game in 2001, Criterion Games almost redefined the feeling of speed and excitement for car racing; but the real bomb exploded with Burnout 2: Point of Impact, released at the end of 2002. Point of Impact was truly an incredible game, with great graphics and excellent gameplay. Fast races and excellent crash scenes were the biggest points that set Burnout apart from other games. And finally: Burnout 3… Forget what you’ve seen so far, because this is Takedown!

Leave behind what you’ve already seen!

Burnout is famous with the phrases “Boost and Crash,” and if there are nitro-turbo car races in existence today, Burnout should be to thank. So what separates Burnout from other video games? – Criterion Games nearly revolutionized the sensation of speed and excitement for automobile racing with the release of the original game in 2001, but Burnout 2: Point of Impact, which came out at the end of 2002, was the genuine bomb. Point of Impact has amazing graphics and fantastic gameplay, making it a genuinely remarkable game. The two things that separated Burnout from other games the most were its quick races and spectacular crash scenes. And finally, Burnout 3 Forget what you’ve seen up to this point because Takedown is here!

Takedown!

Let’s start by explaining the Takedown event, which gave the game its name: You will experience a “takedown” if you interact with or cause an accident affecting the opposing cars during a race. As a result, your Turbo / Boost bar will rapidly fill up and you will be able to travel at your top speed. Your boost energy is your most powerful weapon during the races, and there are many different ways to do it. Driving your car in the opposite direction, making sudden overtakes and scissor maneuvers in city traffic, sliding your car on bends, and colliding with other competitors all result in extra boosts and points for you.Of course, the takedowns you perform will be your biggest speed boost, especially if you manage many in a row. Due to the speed, it is impossible to avoid feeling lightheaded.

Of course, the gameplay is what sets Takedown apart from other games in a big way. No game ever feels this good once you’ve completed a few takedown combos in a row, maxed out your boost bar, and used the first-person perspective to play. At that point, you’ll know what speed really means. – Reminder: At first glance, the fact that there are only two viewing angles in the game—one for the first person perspective and the other for the traditional camera that views the typical car from the outside—might seem like a drawback. However, trust me—these are sufficient for the game. – Your head will ultimately turn due to this speed, and you’ll find yourself hitting a truck in the belly and watching your vehicle break apart. You can change to Slow Motion with Impact Time and speed up the time to witness the perfect accident scenarios more clearly. In the event of an accident while in Impact Time, you have some degree of influence over the direction your car will skid, giving you the chance to push other cars off the road.By the way, don’t assume Impact Time interferes with the races’ flow because, when you’re watching sparks flip through the air, time doesn’t exist. The good news is that the traffic is not clumsy, which means it never makes you want to stop playing the game. If you can picture the scene in your mind, you can also infer how much of an impact the city traffic has on the game

It must be a strong cause to invest hours at the beginning of the game to be able to engage in 173 events, including 73 races and 100 wrecks, on numerous different tracks with roughly 70 cars. You can also drive numerous kinds of automobiles in the game, including buses, lorries, track cars, and pickup trucks, but you typically compete in the main races with compact, sports, muscular, coupe, super, and special class cars. Although it cannot be argued that the absence of licensed automobiles is a drawback, it is unfortunate that some vehicle models have similarities in look across classes.Other than these, it is not feasible to modify the vehicles; instead, we can only paint them in a limited palette of three to four colors. However, it could be wonderful if some minor alterations were made.

Risk = Reward

The races are essentially separated into two categories once more: the races you complete on different circuits, and the Crash mode, where you cause terrible catastrophes. It signifies “The more risk, the more reward,” as it is mentioned in the game. As I previously stated, the riskier and more creative your racing maneuvers are, the more harm you cause your competitors, and the more Burnout points you earn. Of course, you should keep in mind that you will be ranked as a result of the race while you go about performing things. Your objective in Crash mode is to start chain accidents and inflict as much material damage as you can.You may unlock new vehicles, roads, competitions, and a ton of extra prizes in the game by accumulating the points, medals, and damage expenses at the conclusion of all these races. The game is highly expansive in this regard; even takedowns you achieve with specific restrictions and features are sufficient to unlock new items. Burnout 2 was indeed a little too short, but Takedown offers far more gameplay. If we consider that the hard part of the job begins after that, and considering the other modes, I think you can guess how long the game’s playability period is. I was only able to complete 25% of the World Tour mode with 7 hours of gameplay and good performance.

The Kings of the Road?

If you consider yourself to be the king of the roads, you must show it on the World Tour. You can compete in competitions, engage in one-on-one combat, engage in crash and time attack races, or you might be requested to knock down targets when they reach a specific threshold in this section, which is the game’s mission mode. You have the option to travel the streets of a variety of tracks in places like America, Europe, and the Far East. Of course, you must win races, cause accidents, and accrue points in order to unlock these locations

Boosst!

You don’t take turns like U-turns during a race as frequently as in other racing games, and the game always takes place in an arcade environment. Perhaps this is why the game doesn’t even have a map indicator showing where you are on the track. The track designs in the game are also really perfect, and everything is designed with the speed of the game in mind.Because there is no map, you can’t take a corner during a race because you can only see the track beforehand. However, in your first races on that track, you won’t be able to predict when the race will end, which may occasionally have an impact on how well you perform. Even though there aren’t any sharp bends, don’t assume the game is simple; you’ll likely need to replay a few races. You may also experience brief loading times when restarting races, but this is to be expected; you’ll understand why when you see the game’s top-notch graphics

This game features the most realistic vehicle and damage models, visually appealing tracks, and crash sequences with cinematic camera positions. I’ll just repeat that the accident scenes are beyond comprehension; blown tires, broken glass, shrapnel… it’s all astounding. Sparks formed during contact with vehicles, surrounding light effects, sun rays reflecting on your eyes while driving, and explosion effects are incredible. Additionally, there isn’t even the tiniest bit of a lag during the races. When three or more vehicles converge in NFS Underground, the frame occasionally drops, and if you pay attention, the fluency is lost. Takedown doesn’t have even the slightest hint of it! You can count on it…

Let’s provide a little note. Acclaim distributed the first two games while we jumped to Underground, but due to the company’s financial troubles, Electronic Arts stole Burnout from Acclaim and took over as the game’s distributor. As a result, they included a playable NFS Underground 2 sample in Burnout, so if you get a chance from Burnout, you may check it out.

It can be risky to play Burnout 3 alone with a small group of pals since, contrary to what you might believe, they won’t just sit back and watch you while your eyes light up throughout the races. If you declare that you will play alone, you need either keep the Controller 2, which has a weight that can turn your eyes blue, in a secure location or keep yourself away from a bottle that will smash in your head. My life is valuable, so if you suggest playing brother and sister, multiplayer will unquestionably stop any bruises from developing on your body. He will have already seen these issues in Criterion, which is why he has placed so much emphasis on this mod

You can participate in takedown and crash races as a team or cooperatively using Road Rage, Team Crush, and Double Impact modes in addition to regular races on the split screen. On the other hand, Party Crash is a mode that supports up to 8 players and lets you play these games solo or in teams. Additionally, the double controller is sufficient for all of this fun. These races, which can be played with up to 16 individuals, must be quite thrilling if you desire more and have the option to take part.

Crash FM

It is obvious how excellent the music is in Electronic Arts’ most recent games; in Burnout 3, it truly reached its pinnacle. I doubt such excellent music has ever been used in a car race before. While the game’s action atmosphere is completed by more than 40 songs from various artists, Crash FM DJ also does a fantastic job. The DJ may occasionally become repetitive during the restart races you will participate in, but this is to be expected. Additionally, extremely high quality sound effects are generated in a manner that is appropriate for the caliber of the game.

In conclusion

Burnout 3: Takedown is a complete console game. PC gamers may lament the lack of such a title, but it’s titles like this that distinguish consoles from other gaming platforms. I suppose that things can’t get any better than this, but if they do, Burnout 4 is it.
